EMDR and Trauma-Informed Therapy

For many of us the experience of trauma whether a one-time event or prolonged exposure over many days or years can have long-reaching effects on many aspects of our lives including our ability to make and keep relationships, our mental health and well-being, and our physical health and physiology. Our therapists approach our clinical work from a trauma-informed lens and stay up-to-date on the latest research in the treatment of trauma, complex trauma, and post-traumatic symptomatology.

EMDR or Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy is an evidence based treatment for PTSD, anxiety, phobias, depression, chronic illness and more that uses repetitive bilateral stimulations or eye movements to reprocess emotionally-charged memories, negative cognitions and other stuck places. It is an effective method for implementing change relatively quickly.
