Beyond Crying: Pain, Trauma, and Stress in Early Childhood

Through a multisensory psychotherapeutic approach, participants will learn nonverbal signs to decipher how a preverbal child experiences pain/stress; medical/physiological indicators; and developmental effects. Preverbal memory will be highlighted, emphasizing how traumatic events are represented/re-enacted through nonverbal expression and play. The psychodynamic role of significant family members will also be addressed.
